In a very interesting development, Wired has published the full chat logs between alleged WikiLeaks cables source Bradley Manning and hacker Adrian Lamo. These chat logs were originally published a year ago by Wired, and are the sole evidence linking Manning to WikiLeaks.

The full chat logs reveal more details on the nature of the relationship between Manning and Julian Assange (specifically, that Assange knew almost nothing about Manning, as he “takes source protection uber-seriously”).

Salon has accused Wired of deliberately covering up key portions of the interview in order to protect their informant, Lamo. While some of the omitted material was of personal or confidential nature, it certainly seems irresponsible of them to omit important details such as Lamo’s repeated promise of confidentiality to Manning, and the details on the non-relationship with Assange.
